Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for the organization, management, planning, and execution of field activities while leading and supporting Foremen and field teams throughout all phases of construction.
The Electrical Superintendent works closely with Project Managers, Foremen, General Contractors, and other project partners to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with construction documents, quality standards, and applicable electrical codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the work of Foremen to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with construction documents, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Ensure Short Interval Construction schedules are properly utilized to manage productivity and control job costs.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with General Contractors and project stakeholders.
- Provide technical assistance, including interpretation of drawings, specifications, construction methods, and equipment requirements.
- Assist Project Managers in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, and field processes.
- Ensure Foremen and all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, work rules, company policies, and safety requirements.
- Document violations or deficiencies, notify Project Management, and recommend or implement corrective actions as required.
- Maintain thorough familiarity with project plans, specifications, scope of work, contracts, and schedules.
- Attend job scheduling and coordination meetings as required to monitor project activities and identify potential issues.
- Monitor and document job progress, productivity, labor performance, schedule performance, and field conditions.
- Develop and implement field solutions to help ensure projects remain within budget and on schedule.
- Provide Foremen with current, accurate, and timely project information required to successfully execute the work.
- Assist Foremen in developing action plans to maximize the quantity, quality, and efficiency of work performed.
- Track materials to determine which materials are on-site, on order, or back-ordered.
- Develop action plans for critical or back-ordered materials that may impact project schedules.
- Ensure jobsite housekeeping complies with company, project, and contract requirements.
- Monitor construction productivity, progress, and cost and communicate concerns to appropriate leadership.
- Apply expert knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable electrical standards.
- Assist with electrical system installation, troubleshooting, and repair as needed.
- Ensure electrical installations meet applicable quality standards, electrical codes, plans, and specifications.
- Monitor and help resolve matters involving work procedures, complaints, damages, incidents, accidents, and project delays.
- Coordinate with Foremen, Project Managers, technical personnel, other departments, General Contractors, and subcontractors to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
- Ensure all Veracity Electric safety requirements and applicable regulations are followed.
- Enforce the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other required safety equipment.
- Participate in safety and incident investigations, reviews, and corrective-action processes.
- Participate in the review and processing of construction contracts with General
- Contractors, with emphasis on scope of work and field execution.
- Participate in project turnover, project startup, and percent-complete meetings.
- Participate in the preparation of project closeout documentation and turnover with the General Contractor.
- Participate in Veracity Electric project closeout meetings.
- Train, coach, mentor, and develop Foremen and other field employees.
- Plan, assign, coordinate, and direct field work.
- Evaluate employee performance and address performance or workplace concerns as appropriate.
- Address employee concerns and assist with resolving jobsite issues.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, safety, and quality throughout field operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial electrical construction and field operations.
- Expert working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Thorough knowledge of construction technology, equipment, methods, scheduling, cost control, and safety.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, construction documents, and project scopes.
- Strong understanding of electrical system installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations used to determine labor, materials, quantities, productivity, and project costs.
- Excellent communication and strong leadership skills.
- Strong safety background and demonstrated ability to enforce jobsite safety requirements.
- Strong planning, coordination, organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English at the level necessary to safely and successfully perform the position.
- Valid driver's license in good standing and ability to meet Veracity Electric's driving requirements.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced and changing construction environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Ability to appropriately handle and manage confidential information.

Preferred Certifications
- Active Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Four-year Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
- Bilingual.
- Intermediate experience with AccuBid, Bluebeam, Autodesk, Raken, PlanGrid, or
- similar construction management platforms.

Work Environment
- Commercial construction jobsites.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in hot, cold, wet, humid, dry, or changing weather conditions.
- Regular exposure to active construction equipment, electrical systems, wiring, dirt, dust, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
- May work around underground areas, excavations, ladders, lifts, and elevated work locations.
- May be exposed to loud noise levels and varying lighting conditions.
- Fast-paced, team-oriented environment involving coordination with multiple trades, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Requires the ability to report to project sites throughout Florida; project locations may vary based on the employee's home location and business needs.
- May require overtime, nights, weekends, and extended hours based on project schedules and operational needs.
